Governed by the Devil

The Faust legend prevails as reality. Faust, an ambitious man, sells his soul to the devil, Mesestopheles (read, the NRA) in exchange for more pleasurable time on earth. (winning one more election.)

Being Faustian is interpreted over the years as being corrupt, the selling of moral integrity for personal gain albeit for a limited time. When Faust has used up his time, over Faust’s objections, Mesestophenes carries him off to Hell.

Congressmen who recently voted against gun control laws, for their vote will have NRA support for their next election, before the devil carries them off to Hell.
